The UK-based Rank Group and Playtech have extended their casino contract to fully implement the software provider’s table and slots management systems across the 54 land-based casinos in their UK Grosvenor Casino estate.

Under the terms of the extended agreement, Playtech will implement its Neon Slots system and Neon Tables iPad application to manage their 3,000 electronic gaming machines and 650 table games. During the second half of this year, Rank plans to migrate its casinos from its current system to the Neon system.

“We worked as a team to address a wide range of technical challenges and business innovations and have successfully rolled out a system which is performing well across the estate and meeting our business and technical goals,” stated Richard Playle, head of finance for Grosvenor Casinos.

“Migrating our gaming systems to Playtech will enable us to complete our modernisation, offer an improved player experience and complete our vision for a single account and wallet across our retail and digital businesses.”

This deal extension comes one year after Rank signed an initial deal for Playtech to implement its Neon casino management system across the casino estate. The Neon system developed by Playtech subsidiary, IGS, delivers a browser-based HTML5 user interface through Microsoft Azure, resulting in one of the most technically superior retail casino systems globally.

The Neon system was implemented across the Grosvenor casinos in 2016 and manages player tracking data, cash desk operations and guest relations. Rank also uses the Neon Analytics business intelligence platform.

“We developed new features, optimised Neon for deployment in the Cloud, provided numerous integrations and supported the transition from the legacy systems, keeping data in step as we implemented the 54 sites,” explained Martin Sykes, managing director of Playtech Retail subsidiary, Intelligent Gaming.
